it's true what they say... when it rains, it pours. Kurt's doctors cleared him for the 5-hour flight from San Salvador to LAX. It was a comfortable flight -- smooth takeoff, little-to-no turbulence. but the descent went awry. Santa Ana winds forced us to abort the landing just feet from the runway. we were routed to Ontario, where we refueled and waited for a shift in weather. the delay added an additional three hours to Kurt's transport. fortunately, he has some great friends in Carlsbad who ensured that the ambulance was waiting when and where Kurt touched down. call it Murphy's Law, or rotten luck. rarely have things gone as planned over the past few weeks. fortunately, the same is true for friendship... when it rains, it pours.
Kurt is recovering at Scripps Encinitas, where we checked in at 1:00 this morning. the travel was exhausting, I'm sure. but Kurt was relieved to be safely home. we saw the doctor immediately, and he reiterated that Kurt's recovery is on-track. today we resume physical therapy, and continue down the road to recovery.
remember, we ask for privacy during Kurt's initial stay at Scripps. when he feels up to it, we'll let you know, as he very much looks forward to reuniting with friends.
thank you for the continued prayers and support.
